'Orphan Black' Season 3 Premiere And Spoiler News: Two Female Clones Set For 'Major Shift'

Mar 11, 2015 09:22 PM EDT | By Evelyn Hammond

"Orphan Black" season 3 premiere is on April 19.

This new season will bring the female clones into a broader and more dangerous world with bigger challenges, and of course, new clones.

It will be boys vs girls one month from now in the BBC America show. Castor is building an army with male clones, to be portrayed by Ari Millen, at the forefront.

These male clones are not just meant for a private army. One of their main tasks is to erase their female counterparts. So far, only Sarah Manning (Tatiana Maslany) is aware that there is a new set of clones around and she needs to do everything to protect her seestrahs.

While the enemy is getting bigger, the main female clones are also set for major transformation. In an interview with the Entertainment Weekly, Tatiana Maslany said two of the female clones will undergo major shift once the "Orphan Black" season 3 premiere episode kicks off. However, she didn't clear who among soccer mom Alison, science genius Cosima, assassin Helena, and pro-clone Rachel will transform.

"Without giving too much away-there are two of them that have really shifted," Maslany said without saying if fans will see it right in the "Orphan Black" season 3 premiere.

That we're going to see shift in season 3?

"Yes," she confirmed.

"And I don't want to really speak too much about how they shift, but it's both external and internal influences. It's things that are changing within them and it's circumstances changing on the outside that change them forever. And I think they've all gone through that-all of the clones-but there are two in particular this season that were so exciting for me to dig into because it was so out of their environment and out of their comfort zone. I won't say whom, but you'll see."

Here is the status of female clones when "Orphan Black" season 2 finished. Allison is about to sign up on a deal offered by Dyad, Cosima is ill and Helena was kidnapped and her whereabouts is still unknown. Rachel is in the hospital after being shot in the eye with a pencil by Sarah.
