The bout pits two of the most colorful boxers in recent generation. Both are experienced and have won a lot in different divisions.
The fighters received different accolades on their names but for Manny Pacquiao, this mega fight makes him feel like he is going back to the start.
Talking to the Los Angeles Times' Lance Pugmire, the eight-division world champion claims that for his fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. set to happen in second of May this year, he is the underdog and that's a good thing for him because he feels more motivated.
"It's a good thing to be an underdog," Pacquiao told the LA Times.
"It helps me a lot. You're more focused on training. I feel like I'm at the start again. I've always been an underdog."
He also echoed the public's sentiment that the Floyd Mayweather Jr. - Manny Pacquiao fight should have happened five years ago.
"It'll be as good of a fight as it would've been five years ago. The same," Pacquiao said. "Both of us are still at the top."
"Back then, I thought, 'I just want to have a good fight, to fight for a championship.' I thought of being hungry, excited to focus on training."
While the anticipation for the Floyd Mayweather Jr. - Manny Pacquiao fight intensifies, training are also getting more intense. Freddie Roach, Pacquiao's trainer, told GMA News that he enlisted a sparring partner for his guy. This partner, as he claims, is from Mayweather's camp.
"I have a secret sparring partner," Roach told GMA News. "He doesn't want to get beat up or something like that because he's leaving Mayweather's camp."
"I'm happy with Manny. Me and Manny are on the same page. We're really happy with each other right now."
The press conference for the Floyd Mayweather Jr. - Manny Pacquiao fight took place tonight in Los Angeles. This will be the first and only time the rivals will see each other face to face until the fight week in Las Vegas.
