Warner Bros. and DC Comics are wasting no time.

With the success of their television series, they are making sure people's interest will still be there by introducing a new show that is spun from "The Flash" which is on its first ultimately successful first season and "Arrow" now on its third run.

This "The Flash" - "Arrow" spinoff series was announced late last month and according to reports, it see recurring characters from both shows in lead roles. Among them are Brandon Routh and Caity Lotz from "Arrow" and Wentworth Miller and Victor Garber from "The Flash."

Few weeks since the announcement of "The Flash" - "Arrow" spinoff series, new details were shared by executive producer Greg Berlanti. In an interview, he said this show will be a homage to team up movies of before.

"For me, it honors all of the great team up movies, whether it's Ocean's Eleven or whether it's the superhero books," Berlanti said in an interview with the Entertainment Weekly.

"That's what it's about ("The Flash" - "Arrow" Spinoff Series). If you go back to the old westerns, there would be The Lone Gunman, but there would also be The Magnificent Seven. It's very much in the spirit of those kinds of movies and shows."

Berlanti also insisted this "The Flash" - "Arrow" Spinoff series will be different than what audiences have already seen on TV.

"I only want to do them when I know that they'll feel distinct from the other shows we're doing," he explained. "This is really its own thing."

In a separate news, Deadline reported Dominic Purcell, playing Heatwave in "The Flash," is confirmed to appear in the upcoming show.

"Purcell will reprise his role as Mick Rory, a pyromaniac who finds an outlet for his obsession with fire when he teams up with Leonard Snart/Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and becomes the villain known as Heat Wave," the entertainment website wrote.

"The Flash" - "Arrow" Spinoff series will air mid-season next year.
