Legendary Pictures has confirmed that "Thor" villain Tom Hiddleston will star in its "King Kong" prequel called "Kong: Skull Island."

While the announcement is reportedly official, the 34-year-old British actor kept his mouth shut about the project until now.

The famous "Thor" villain finally speaks out about "Kong: Skull Island" movie while promising the viewers to expect and "amazing" prequel from "King Kong" in his interview with Red Carpet News TV.

"Well really it was [director] Jordan Vogt-Roberts has such an extraordinary vision," he said when asked what made him decide to accept the project.

"His story which I know he hasn't revealed to anyone yet is 'King Kong' you've never seen before, and it's very ambitious and epic and fresh and new in his vision and design and the characters are amazing. The chance to work with legendary again, who made 'Crimson Peak,' and I love what they did with 'Godzilla,' there are number of things, but it's more of working with Jordan particularly, his idea is amazing and the story and the script and the studio so yeah, it's a very easy yes."

And while "Thor" villain Tom Hiddleston is ready to start working on the new movie, new reports surfaced that "Kong: Skull Island" original release date, which was on Nov. 4, 2016 has now been pushed back to March 10, 2017.

Legendary Pictures has failed to provide an official statement as to why they had to delay the release date of "Kong: Skull Island," but speculations suggest that it may had something to do with the "Marvel-like Universe" the studio company is planning for its Kaijus.

The plot synopsis to "Kong: Skull Island" movie has also been revealed, read below:

"In the spirit of its worldwide blockbuster Godzilla, Legendary Pictures presents a bold new take on the mythos of another iconic beast with Kong: Skull Island, which stars Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers and Thor series).

Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer) and written by John Gatins (Flight) and Max Borenstein (Godzilla), "Kong: Skull Island" will fully immerse audiences in the mysterious and dangerous home of the king of the apes as a team of explorers ventures deep inside the treacherous, primordial island. Legendary's story honors the foundations of existing King Kong lore, but places it in an entirely new, distinct timeline.

Thomas Tull (Godzilla, The Dark Knight, Pacific Rim) and Jon Jashni (Godzilla, Warcraft) will produce and Alex Garcia (Godzilla) will executive produce. The film will be released in 3D and IMAX 3D by Universal Pictures."

"Kong: Skull Island" has previously been announced by Legendary Pictures CEO, Thomas Tull.

"We have been tinkering around with one thing," Tull said, according to MTV, showing a clip from the planned film.

Mashable was able to see the teaser trailer provided by the studio company, where the new movie is expected to become an instant box office success.

"The teaser started with the camera panning over a roiling sea, leading to an island of dense jungle and obscured beasts," the publication wrote. "The shot tracked into a skull-shaped rock outcropping where something stirred - something big - and then rose, with the dark profile of a giant ape. He roared, he beat his chest, and the words 'Legendary's Skull Island' appeared."

Adding, "Previous works have touched on the island, but staying and exploring this mysterious and dangerous place offers Legendary the opportunity to take audiences deeper inside this rich world with a style and scope that parallels other Legendary productions. The film will be released on November 4, 2016 (this has been changed to March 10, 2017)."
