Paul George Return To USA Team Ruled Out Because Of That Horrific Injury? Indiana Pacers Star Says He Is Still 'In'

Paul George return to Indiana Pacers line up this season is still questionable. The Pacers are fighting for the eight spot in the Eastern Conference and most fans want to have him back to boost their campaign. After all, he is a two-time All-Star. However, according to Candace Buckner of IndyStar, some teammates of his are would prefer him to rest out the season.

While his Indiana Pacers teammate are skeptical about Paul George's return to their line-up, the 24-year old shooting guard is looking forward to playing again for Team USA. It can be remembered that Paul George suffered his horrific injury during a pick-up game between US national basketball team players as they were preparing for the FIBA World competition last year. The injury was so bad even his teammates can't look at it. This, however, does not dent George's desire to don the country's colors again.

"I'm in. Of course," George said according to a report by John Schumman of NBA.com.

"The day it happened," George added, referencing his injury, "right after, I told them I looked forward to continuing on with USA basketball."

So Paul George return to the USA Team is on the list. Howeverm, fans cannot expect him to wear the Indiana Pacers jersey anytime soon, putting their push for the playoff spot in danger. Even George himself is not counting on it, not because he is still far from 100% but because he does not want to derail the team's momentum. Pacers are currently in 9th place and just a couple of games behind 8th placer Boston Celtics.

"I want to play, but I don't want to play under any terms of just wanting to get out there. I want to be fully healthy," George said. "It's different if this was the beginning of the year, and we were still trying to find our way. But these guys are playing at the top at their game right now and again, the last thing I want to do is slow them down."
