What Is The Wanted Alum Nathan Sykes’ Advice for One Direction? Should Zayn Malik Spend 100% For Himself Now That He’s Left The Group?

The Wanted alum Nathan Sykes recently cleared up his band's issue with On Direction to The Mirror.

"I never had a problem with any of the 1D boys and never got involved with the Twitter fights, it wasn't me," he reportedly told the publication (via J-14) about the past tension between the two bands. "I think sometimes you can be a victim of hatred through association. I was like, 'I didn't say anything.'"

He even hung out with Harry Styles in Los Angeles recently, revealing that they "had an [amazing] embrace" that time.

In fact, he applauded the highly successful group for their last album. However, despite the success, the boy band recently lost one of its members, Zayn Malik.

Being a former member of a boy band himself who is now making his own music, The Wanted's Nathan Sykes shared some thought-provoking advice to the boys, Popcrush reported.

"I think they're last album sounded brilliant," he said. "But I think when you're a percentage of a group, you've also just got to give yourself some time where you can be 100 percent for yourself."

"You've got to do the stuff that you always wanted to do and have fun with it, rather than be 20 percent of a boy band."

His comment reflected Malik's recent interview about how he felt after deciding to leave the band.

"It is crazy and wild and a bit mad," the 22-year-old revealed to The Sun (via Times) last Thursday. "But at the same time I've never felt more in control in my life."

"And I feel like I'm doing what's right - right by myself and right by the boys, so I feel good."

Just like his advice for the group, former The Wanted member Nathan Sykes is currently promoting his sexy new single, "More Than You'll Ever Know." He will also be touring the UK and releasing his first album as a solo artist soon.
