Jennifer Hudson is not sure yet if she will return as part of the "Empire" TV series cast in season 2.

Nothing to be worried about, because series showrunner and writers have yet to come up with a plan for the second season.

However, here is something fans can celebrate about. Another elite musician that appeared in the show before is sure to come back for the Fox musical drama's sophomore run.

In an interview with ET Online, Pati LaBelle said she will return to the show after doing a cameo in the first season.

LaBelle played as herself and belt out a song in the finale together with Jussie Smollett who plays Jamal Lyon, the gay son of Empire Enterprises and main antagonist Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard).

"Patty LaBelle will return," she said in an interview before her "Dancing With the Stars" rehearsal.

"At first Lee had me playing an angel. I said, 'An angel? That means I'm over!' You know? I'm gone," LaBelle recounted her conversation with series creator Lee Daniels about her re-joining the "Empire" TV series cast. "He said, 'Ok, Lala. I'm gonna give you a part and you're going to come back all the time.'"

The "Empire" TV series cast is expected to get brighter in the second season as Lee Daniels has been contacting top movie and television stars to grace his show. Among them are Oprah and Denzel Washington.

"He's relentless," co-creator Danny Strong told E! News' Jesse Giddings last month when asked about rumors Denzel Washington is going to join the "Empire" TV series cast. As for Oprah, Daniels is positive the media mogul will join them. He also explained that it was Taraji P. Henson, who plays Cookie Lyon, who requested for Oprah.

"I'm starting to feel bad for Oprah. I just want to be like, 'It's OK, you can say no.'"

"That's what she wants and Cookie gets what Cookie wants," Daniels said. "She told me who to cast and I just go, 'OK, yes, ma'am!'"

"I'm going to punch her in the stomach, grab her by her hair," Daniels joked. "I think she's going to show up."

Other top of the line artists who graced the "Empire" TV series cast are Courtney Love, Snoop Dogg, and Naomi Campbell.
