'Arrow' - 'The Flash' Spinoff Series Casting News: Fan Favorite 'Doctor Who' Character Joins Superhero Show, Newcomer Also In

"Arrow" - "The Flash" spinoff series has enlisted two more DC characters that haven't been seen in previous live action show.

Deadline reported the new superhero series from writer and producer Greg Berlanti will also be graced by Rip Hunter and will be played by a "Doctor Who" fan favorite actor.

"Another superhero is joining the ranks of the CW's Arrow/Flash spinoff. British actor Arthur Darvill (Doctor Who) is set to play Rip Hunter in the superhero team-up show, from Arrow creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg & Marc Guggenheim," the website wrote.

In the comics, Rip Hunter is a genius level inventor with multiple top-level fighting skills. He is affiliated to other superheroes like Booster Gold and Golstar.

Previous "Arrow" - "The Flash" spinoff series news have it that it will feature DC characters that haven't appeared in live- action television before. Rip Hunter has been a major part of DC comics but the only time he graced TV is through the animated series "Batman: The Brave and the Bold."

Another confirmed "Arrow" - "The Flash" spinoff series casting news is about Hawkgirl who will be played by newcomer Ciara Renee. According to Deadline, Renee is relatively new in the entertainment industry. Deadline wrote:

"It has been a fast rise for young actress Ciara Renée, who graduated from Baldwin Wallace University with a degree in music theater in May 2013. Since then, she made her Broadway debut in Big Fish and replaced Patina Miller as Leading Player in the revival of Pippin. Last fall, she made her TV debut with a guest shot on NBC's Law & Order: SVU."

In the comics, Hawkgirl is affiliated with the Justice League in which the Flash is a part of. She is also connected to the Black Lantern Corps and Birds of Prey.

"Arrow" - "The Flash" spinoff series is expected to air next year.
