'The Flash' Episode Guide: Will The Real Eobard Thawne Return? Find Out More Here

Apr 02, 2015 12:35 PM EDT | By Evelyn Hammond

"Trickster" is probably the most perfect title the latest "The Flash" episode can have.

Not only because it features the villain of the same name, played by returning Mark Hamill, but also because it played several tricks to its fans.

The main characters inside the show have been caught in a web of conspiracy and deception but even the fans are getting entangled to it, particularly the one that has to do with Reverse Flash. Who is behind that yellow costume? Looking at the past "The Flash" episode guide, Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) is the likely answer.

Perceptions of the real Reverse Flash might change though after watching "Trickster" episode.

(Spoilers ahead)

Eobard Thawne and Harrison Wells are two different people. In previous episode, the mentor of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) revealed himself as Eobard Thawne who came from the future and got trapped in the present.

Turned out it is not his body. In the latest episode, the real Reverse Flash came out and played by "The Carrie Diaries" star Matt Letscher. That is not the last people will see Letscher's character. According to recent "The Flash" episode guide from the actor himself, the original man behind the yellow suit will appear again.

"They definitely talked about the possibility of him continuing past this season," Letscher said in an interview with TV Line.

"They're still developing what that story would look like. There are so many stories you could tell with this character from the Flash anthology. He appears in so many different iterations. They have a lot to choose from, including their own story."

Letscher also talked about how he landed the role.

"They approached me earlier than you would normally be approached," before the holidays in 2014, Letscher recalls. "I think they knew that it was going to be a big reveal and they wanted to make sure they knew who they were writing for, but also, they wanted me to be prepared and to make sure I was in the cone of silence, so to speak."

Next "The Flash" episode titled "All-Star Team Up" will air Tuesday next week and will feature stars from "Arrow."
