Los Angeles Lakers News: Coach Byron Scott Wary His Players Would Shoot Him In The Back

Apr 08, 2015 09:22 PM EDT | By Evelyn Hammond

There is no better reason to read about any of the recent Los Angeles Lakers news.

The whole season is in a disarray and the team will again miss the playoffs, something that has been written ever since the start of the 2014-15 tournament. Coach Byron Scott is under scrutiny for how the season went, although the general part of it should be blamed to injuries to key players like Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, and 7th overall pick Julius Randle.

Los Angeles Lakers are out of the playoff picture and Byron Scott is just waiting for the season to end to make several changes in the line-up.

This is not just because that the current one is not working but also because he doesn't think the players he has right now aren't the ones he want to be with.

"I got a sense of a whole lot of them I wouldn't want to be in a fox hole with," Scott said after Monday's Los Angeles Lakers practice. "I think they'd end up shooting me in the back. So I've got a pretty good sense of the guys that I think are going to be around, that we will build around, build together in this process and go through it."

Speaking of players to keep, looks like one of the shoo-ins will be rookie guard Jordan Clarkson who lately has been the lone bright spot for the team. Coach Byron Scott even thinks the half American half Filipino guard from University of Tulsa should be included in the NBA All-Rookie team.

"He's done a hell of a job learning our offense and really learning what he can do on both ends of the floor," said Lakers head coach Byron Scott. "Each week he's added a little something extra. His work ethic is fantastic; he's a guy that wants to be good, and he works his butt off.

"I think he is one of the top rookies in the league this year. To me, there's no doubt he's in that top five."
