Microsoft has just recently released the Windows 10 Technical Preview Build 10051 which supports a wider variety of Lumia phones, compared to the first build, though for the mean time it is exclusive to Fast release ring of the Windows Insider program, reported by IB Times.

Now that the Redmond tech giant has been gearing up for the Windows 10 mobile platform, its first flagship the Lumia 940 or the cancelled Project McLaren might come into light anytime soon as Neil Broadley, Microsoft's director of phone marketing, was previously quoted saying that the company is focusing on their next 'flagship development for slightly later when Windows 10 is available.'

WM Power User then reported that the cancelled project McLaren was revealed by WindowsBlogItalia to feature an application called 'Mixview' which allows users to customize tiles on their homescreen.

Meanwhile, Fudzilla leaked that the upcoming Lumia 940 might feature an iris sensor that could work on low light condition as it relies on near-infrared imaging; and limited information about a docking station.

As for the Lumia 940 design, a render concept surfaced online showing two variants of the upcoming flagship- the Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL. According to Phones Review it was made by designer Ryan Smalley published on Behance.

In this concept, the Lumia 940 features a 5-inch display with Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 and sports a 20-megapixel Pureview rear camera with optical image stabilization, high-resolution zoom and Xenon flash.

On the other hand, the bigger Lumia 940 XL has a 5.7-inch display which renders the same resolution and a superior rear camera of 40MP.

''The handsets are expected to come with transparent UI, enhanced settings area and a new Web browser, to name a few. Behance also says the upcoming device will be offered in Andesite, Obsidian and Sandstone hue,'' IB Times added.
