Avril Lavigne has finally come out of the public eye following her revelation about her undisclosed health issue she mentioned on Twitter couple of months ago.

In a phone interview on "Good Morning America," the 30-year-old singer revealed more details about her struggle against Lyme disease, Daily Mail reported.

"I went from doctor to doctor for about eight months until I found somebody that had the knowledge of Lyme disease and the experience of treating it,' she said during the interview.

''I actually knew I had it the whole time, probably since the summer, and was just up against a lot of doctors telling me, 'You're crazy.'"

E! added that while she was confined to bed for five months, her health condition helped her 'focus' on her album 'Fly'. The song was co-written by her husband Chad Kroeger and David Hodges.

"I've never had so much down time in my life, so it's been good in that sense," she added.

"It's just about inner strength and courage. This song took on a whole new meaning for me while I was sick, which was pretty magical."

Her "Fly" album, which will serve as the anthem of the Special Olympics was released along with its inspiring music video, Mirror reported. And all of the net proceeds will go to the Special Olympic.

"Today I am releasing a song, a single for The Special Olympics called Fly. I wrote Fly for my foundsation a couple years ago. Now I have partnered up with Special Olympics. All net proceeds got to the Special Olympics. It's about inner strength and courage," she announced on the show.

"I wanted the athletes to be the stars of the video and, just like the message of the song, to show the world that they can overcome the challenges and that everyone is meant to shine.''
