'Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain' PS4 Release Date Shaken Up Following 'Silent Hills' Cancellation And Head Transplant Surgery Controversy

Following confirmation that Konami has cancelled the release of "Silent Hills," its upcoming game "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" is now under fire.

While Konami and Hideo Kojima claimed that "MGSV:TPP" will push through despite parting ways, it's not clear if the release date for its highly anticipated follow up to its action-adventure stealth video game would be shaken up following reports of latest controversy.

An Italian-based neurosurgeon named Dr. Sergio Canavero, who is going to attempt the first ever human head transplant in 2017, filed a complaint against the creators of "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phanton Pain."

Apparently, the official trailer released by Konami three years ago featuring a doctor who exactly resembles Dr. Canavero has actually nothing to do with the said neurosurgeon.

It's only now that Dr. Canavero has learned of the trailer and he is determined to get to the bottom of it.

Motherboard.Vice released the official police report of the doctor against the said trailer.

"On April 19, 2015, I received in my email inbox an email coming from the UK from the account [redacted], containing a link which directed to the trailer of the upcoming video game Metal Gear Solid V Phantom Pain, produced by Konami in Japan," the report read. "The trailer features a video with a doctor with my physical likeness and a series of very violent scenes, some computer generated (presumably, they used an authentic video of me, which was then digitized, probably obtained from one of my TED Conference talks)."

"I do not have any suspects," he added. "I have nothing else to add except to declare my willingness to proceed against the people responsible for the facts explained here, which the judicial authority will observe as crimes."

Furthermore, Dr. Canavero told Business Insider that the issue is already being handled by the Italian police.

"The Italian police are investigating the matter," he claimed.

And whlie the future of "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" hangs on the line, either Konami or Hideo Kojima have yet spoken about the alleged controversy.

It's worth noting though that Kojima once teased fans about the upcoming "MGS V: TPP" game featuring a "taboo," but has found "an ally who would happily support me in that risk."
