'Digimon Adventure Tri' Release Date Will Be Officially Announced On Wednesday? Will Sora End Up With Tai? Or Will Matt Win Her Over?

"Digimon Adventure Tri" is definitely not airing on TV in April, that's obvious.

However, Den of Geek assured worried fans that the release date of the third season to the hit anime series will be officially announced on May 6.

"On Wednesday, May 6th, we're going to get the first promotional video for the new Digimon cartoon, along with a complete voice cast and airing schedule! The details come from here, but it's all in Japanese," the publication revealed.

While there's no more digi-eggs to be hatched, news about "Digimon Adventure Tri" supposed release date announcement got fans on Reddit wonder who Sora would eventually end up with, Taichi or Yamato (Tai or Matt)?

"The only thing I want to be changed (or at least explored) in Tri, is the epilogue of 02. I primarily want to see Sora and Tai together. At the very least, I'd hope to get an arc ending in 'they tried to be together, and it didn't work out, but they made amends'," Twitter user Syncopia explained.

However, another user explained that the Tai and Sora romance was only explored in the U.S. to which the Japanese version did not even feature.

Thus, Ta2punk believed that "Matt and Sora should be more of a thing than Tai and Sora. They had similarities and very similar maturity levels between the two. Both had single parents if I believe. They were in the emo cave together, among other things. IDK, they seem more likely than Tai and Sora."

While not much has been revealed about Tai, Sora and Matt a previous interview with "Digimon Adventure Tri" producer, which was translated in Spanish and was summarized in English revealed that the third season would most likely focus on the original eight characters being adults now.

"The Original 8 are the main characters of Tri(sorry 02 fans)," the post claimed. "They wanted something that was a reunion of those 8 kids and their Digimon partners."

Meanwhile, Anime News Network reported that new "Digimon Adventure Tri" character designs have already been revealed featuring the already older Yamato Ishida and Gabumon, who are both returning to the anime series.

In addition, IGN reported original voice actors are already set to reprise their roles in the series as well.

"We've got our first look at the Digimon in Digimon Adventure Tri, and now have official confirmation that the original Japanese voice cast will return," the publication claimed.

While there has been no specific release date yet, based on the interview "Digimon Adventure Tri" will be hitting the TV screens in Spring, where where lead character, Taichi and his team, Chosen Children group, are going to reunite with their partner Digimons to help save Digi World.
