'Gears Of War 4' Xbox One Release Date Expected To Be Announced At E3 2015! Black Tush Studios Reveals 'Massive Progress' With The Game

Four years following the release of "GOW 3," a "Gears of War 4" release date is reportedly going to be announced at E3 2015.

While no official word has been made yet, VC Post reported that Black Tusk Studios would most likely introduce the sequel to the military science fiction third-person shooting game at the highly anticipated event on June 16-18.

Following the exit of Hanno Lemke's in the studio, fans started to worry about the future of the game, but new GM Rod Ferguson made it clear that "Gears of War 4" is actively gearing up and there's practically nothing to worry.

In an interview with Game Spot, Xbox boss Phil Spencer revealed that a "massive progress" is already happening.

"The thing that was great about the early Gears of War games, to me, [was] just the epic scale of the settings that I was in," Spencer said. "The story, the setting was a lot more what I would call soulful and maybe even a little dark. And [Rod Fergusson] and I have talked about this; I think the game over time became almost more of a parody of itself; not for any kind of horrible reasons. It's hard to continue to manage the IP."

And while rumors about "Gears of War 4" becoming a reboot instead have been rampant, Spencer clarified that it's not going to be the case.

"I wouldn't call it a reboot, because I don't think the franchise necessarily needs that," he explained.

Adding, "I think we can make sure that we're investing in this thing for the next decade, which is how I want to think about it. The thing that was great about the early Gears of War games, to me, [was] just the epic scale of the settings that I was in. I think the story and the setting and what they're going through in a Gears of War-the name of the game, it really meant something to what that game was about. We've got to get back to that. The feeling of those individuals."

Black Tusk Studios developer Jack Felling, however said that "Gears of War 4" will not be available to Xbox 360 consoles.

"No, sorry, it won't be available on the 360, but it will be available for the Xbox One," he answered a fan on Twitter.
