'Silent Hills' PS4 Release Date Still Possible After Guillermo Del Toro Joins Petition To Pursue The Game? Norman Reedus Frustrated With The Cancellation

It seems like the fans cry have been answered, well not totally but at least one of the persons whom they addressed their petition to have expressed his support.

After Konami officially announced that there will no longer be a PS4 release date for "Silent Hills" because it's already cancelled, fans who are highly anticipating the game immediately signed a petition to ask the giant gaming studio and its director, Guillermo del Toro to pursue with the game.

The award winning director responded to the petition claiming that he will delightfully "add" his signature in the hopes that Konami will change its mind and bring back "Silent Hills."

"Norman [Reedus, the Walking Dead actor who was attached to play the lead role] was super happy, Hideo was super happy, and so was I," he said in an interview with IGN.  "I know there's a petition going on the internet and it's gathering signatures. I would add my signature to it, and hope that someone pays attention."

Furthermore, del Toro also shared details on what their plans was about the game.

"What we wanted to do with the game - and we were very much in agreement on this - was to take the technology and make it as cutting-edge as we could in creating terror in the house," he explained. "The idea was very, very atmosphere-drenched."

Adding, "But what made Silent Hill so great was that you had the atmosphere but then you a pay-off with a very active, very intense series of moments. We wanted to do some stuff that I'm pretty sure - just in case it ever comes back, which honestly I would love for somebody to change their mind and we can do it - but in case it comes back there was some stuff that was very new, and I wouldn't want to spoil it.

"Walking Dead" cast Norman Reedus, who's supposed to star in the horror game also expressed his desire for the studio to pursue with "Silent Hills" PS4 release date.

"Super bummed about this was really looking forward to it," "The Walking Dead" star posted on Twitter.

But, while he is disappointed he's also hopeful that "Silent Hills" would get to arrive in PS4 consoles in the future.

"Hopefully it'll come back around. Sorry everyone," he added.

Below is the fans letter posted at Change.org.

"Dear Hideo and Guillermo,

hearing the cancellation of one of the most anticipated horror games is about the most heartbreaking thing horror fans had to swallow this year.

Since the first sight of the P.T Demo it was instant love, and it burned into the minds of everyone that this had to release at some point.

Although the reasons are not yet announced I am begging you along with countless others: Please continue the Development on Silent Hills, if the issue is money related, we would love to see a Crowdfunding campaign like Kickstarter to ensure you are getting all the financial help there is! We´d love to see it happen at some point and want to thank you for all the great games you have released so far!

Greetings

-Yauheni "
