‘Supernatural’ Star Jensen Ackles On His Way To Film For Season 11! Shows Off His ‘Hiatus Beard’; Will He Direct New Episodes?

"Supernatural" star Jensen Ackles is finally on his way to film for the CW show's 11th season.

He marked the start of the new season with a selfie during his plane ride to Canada, showing off the impressive beard he grew while on hiatus.

"Back on a plane...can only mean 1 thing. Season 11, here I come. #SPN11 #HiatusBeard," he captioned the shot.

He will have to shave it all off to get into character as Dean Winchester when filming officially starts on July 11. The TV star spent his time off going on trips with his family and meeting up with friends, as well as going on "Supernatural" conventions all over the world.

His co-star Jared Padalecki, who plays his brother Sam in the long-running series, recently had to beg off his appearance in several conventions because of exhaustion.

Rumors of him leaving the show were quickly denied by the actor's representative. The onscreen brothers and off-screen best friends spent Fathers' Day together with their families as well.

Meanwhile, "Supernatural" stars Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins and Mark Sheppard will reportedly be showing up at the San Diego Comic Con to talk about season 11. Executive producer Jeremy Carver will also be joining the panel.

According to Christian Today, "Supernatural" season 11 will officially start filming on June 12, while Comic Con will be on the 11th. While there likely won't be an extended teaser for the new season, the show will hopefully release a "pretty funny" gag reel during the panel.

Season 10 left our favorite TV brothers being swallowed up by "The Darkness" that was unleashed on Earth with the removal of the Mark of Cain from Dean's arm.

According to producer Jim Michaels, eight of the 23 episodes are already finished. TV Line also reported that "Supernatural" star Jensen Ackles will be getting back on the directorial chair this season. He will be working on an episode titled "The Bad Seed" which will introduce a new character, Amara.

Amara will reportedly be "a femme fatale in her late 20s who possesses an acid tongue and a seductive beauty."

"Supernatural" will return on the CW this Fall.
