"Sense8" season 2 renewal is still up in the air. Unlike other Netflix TV series, this new sci-fi series from Wachowskis is taking too long to get a go signal for a second season.

"Sense8" debut on June 5 and is the first project produced under executive producer J. Michael Straczynski's very own Studio JMS.

During an appearance at the San Diego Comic-com for DC Comics, J. Michael Straczynski said "Sense8" season 2 renewal is on the way. This scoop was reported by Comic Book Resources which wrote:

"Straczynski said that the show is up for renewal with Netflix, and he should know in the next two weeks if the streaming video company will order a second season. He said he's hopeful, though, because Netflix representatives have told him that the viewers are watching the 12-episode first season "straight through -- three, four, six times."

Straczynski also commented on his show's diversity and sexuality content.

"It's such a pleasure dealing with gender issues, privacy issues, sexuality issues that really have not been seen before [on television.]" he said.

"Sense8" season 2 renewal is something many fans see coming. Its first season did great in critical reception with over 800,000 Netflix users giving it an average of 4.2 out of 5 stars. Rotten Tomatoes, which gave it 69% approval, (with audience approval at 92%) wrote in its critical consensus that "Some of the scenarios border on illogical, but the diverse characters and the creative intersections between their stories keep the Wachowskis' Sense8 compelling."

"Sense8" tells the story of eight strangers from different parts of the world who became emotionally and mentally linked and overcame their own struggle with the help of each other.

Cast members include Aml Ameen as the African driver Capheus, Tina Desai as Kala Dandekar, a university-educated pharmacist, Bae Doona as Sun Bak, daughter of a Korean businessman, Tuppence Middleton as Icelandic DJ Riley Blue, Miguel ángel Silvestre as closeted Mexican Lito Rodriguez, Brian J. Smith as Chicago police officer Will Gorski, Max Riemelt as Wolfgang Bogdanow from Berlin, and Jamie Clayton as Nomi Marks, a trans woman and hacktivist living in San Francisco.

There is no words yet whether all these cast members will return once "Sense8" season 2 renewal is confirmed.
