After confirming that "Avatar 2" release date would be delayed for another year, fans started to worry that the sequel may be in jeopardy.

While he admitted that working with three movies simultaneously is no easy task, the 60-year-old multi-awarded filmmaker talked about his decision.

"There's a layer of complexity in getting the story to work as a saga across three films that you don't get when you're making a standalone film," Cameron explained during New Zealand Screen Advisory Board Meeting of the movie's delay.

Despite the delays, James Cameron has assured fans of "Avatar 2" movie that everything is well taken care of, claiming that they have been working on the sequels for years and that there's nothing to be worried about.

"There's nothing I need to say as an artist about the state of the world and human affairs that I can't do through the lens of the Avatar universe, he said in a report by IGN. "We've had a couple of years to think through the story arc of the next three films, and every day that goes by, I believe in the stories I'm telling more and more. We're not coming out of the block fast to capitalize on the last film."

And while "Avatar 2" release date is delayed until Dec. 25, 2017, Crossmap reported that the other two more films will not be affected.

"We expect to be able to accelerate the process quite a bit, because we've improved a lot of the software and the computer graphics tools, and we've been working very closely with Weta Digital down here in New Zealand developing a whole new suite of tools to speed up the process," the director explained of the sequels' process.

Adding, "We're writing three simultaneously. And we've done that so that everything tracks throughout the three films. Were' not just going to do one and then make up another one and another one after that and parallel with that, we're doing all the design. So we've designed all the creatures and the environments."

In other news, James Cameron has paid tribute to his good friend, who is supposed to be the music director of the upcoming movie.

James Cameron together with producing partner Jon Landau said "the Avatar community has lost one of our great creative lights."

"James' music was the air under the banshees' wings, the ancient song of the forest, and the heartbeat of Eywa," they said.

"We have lost not only a great team-mate and collaborator, but a good friend.

"James's music affected the heart because his heart was so big, it infused every cue with deep emotional resonance, whether soaring in majesty through the floating mountains, or crying for the loss of nature's innocence under bulldozer treads.

"The beauty and power of Avatar lay not just in the superb performances and the visual splendour, but in the music that made us cry and exult along with our characters. Irayo, James. Fly brother.''

"Avatar 2" movie release date is slated on Dec. 25, 2017.
