Finally! Disney has confirmed that one of the upcoming "Star Wars 7" spin off movie is about Han Solo.

Following the announcement though comes speculations as to who will portray the role of the young Han Solo.

While a number of young actors have been linked to the highly coveted role, "Breaking Bad" star Aarol Paul is reportedly the bookies' favorite, The Guardian reported.

While this may or may not inffluence Disney and Lucasfilm's decision in choosing the actor who will play the new Han Solo following Harrison Ford's portrayal, Aaron Paul's impressive performance in the hit series "Breaking Bad" has reportedly earned him an inch closer to the role.

However, the The Guardian noted that Paul's 35-year age might be a deterrent factor for getting picked.

Apparently, the "Star Wars 7" spin-off will feature Han Solo in his early 20s, thus a younger actor is reportedly more fitting for the role.

Now comes the names of 25-year-old "Kingsman" actor, Taron Egerton, 21-year-old "Divergent" star Ansel Elgort and the 25-year-old hunk Nicholas Hoult from "X-Men: First Class" as better choices.

Star Wars reported that the spin off will tell the story of how Han Solo "became the smuggler, thief, and scoundrel whom Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first encountered in the cantina at Mos Eisley."

The Hollywood Reported added that if "Breaking Bad" star Aaron Paul does get the job, he'll be able to work with "The Lego Movie" directors Christopher Miller and Phil Lord who are tapped to helm the upcoming "Star Wars 7" spin off movie with Lawrence and Jon Kasdan writing the script.

The Kasdan brothers have already expressed their enthusiasm in working with Miller and Lord saying, "We're so excited to be working with Chris and Phil, who will bring a fresh new dimension to the Star Wars universe," said the Kasdans. "They're two of the smartest, funniest and most original filmmakers around, and the ideal choice to tell the story of Han Solo, one of the coolest characters in the galaxy."

Meanwhile, Lucasfilm CEO Kathleen Kennedy, is confident that the team of writers and directors will provide a well deserved Han Solo spin-off movie as they "bring their wit, style, enery and heart" to the project.

"It's not just any filmmaker who can tell the story of such a beloved icon like Han Solo, and I'm excited to say we've found the perfect team to handle the task. Larry and Jon know all there is to know about the character, and Chris and Phil will bring their wit, style, energy and heart to tell Han's story."

"Star Wars 7" spin off movie is scheduled on May 25, 2018.
