While fans are excitingly waiting for the sequel of "Finding Nemo" to make a splash in the big screen again, a new trailer is reportedly confirmed to be presented at the upcoming D23 Expo.

After more than 10 years of waiting a glimpse to Disney Pixar's "Finding Dory" is finally happening for the first time in public during Disney's Annual Fan Convention in Anaheim, Calif., Hypable confirmed.

The event is titled "Every Story Is a Journey: The Upcoming Films of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios" and it will be hosted by Pixar COO John Lasseter, who will present trailers from upcoming Disney and Pixar movies including "Finding Dory," "The Good Dinosaur" and "Zootopia and Moana."

"Filmmakers will unveil never-before-seen footage from Pixar's upcoming The Good Dinosaurand Finding Dory and Disney Animation'sZootopia and Moana. The event will include surprise announcements, musical performances, and appearances by the films' star voice talent," Disney reportedly said.

The highly anticipated "Finding Dory" movie is said to take place six months after the events of "Finding Nemo" "based on Gabriela Cowperthwaite's documentary about Seaworld, entitled 'Blackfish,'" VC Post reported.

While it's not yet clear what Pixar will show in the trailer, it's safe to assume that Marlin and his forgetful blue-tang fish friend, Dory is going to be the main stars as they embark on another adventure going to Marine Biology Institute of California where Dory was born and where she apparently "lost" her parents.

"In her journey, she will reportedly come across a giant squid, a kelp forest, falling shipping containers, and a whale shark," the publication added.

As per Nemo's role, it's not yet clear whether he will be featured in the movie or not after Comic Book Movie reported that the entire story of "Finding Dory" will most likely focus on the adventures of his father Marlin and friend Dory.

Movie Pilot on the other hand, added that new characters will be introduced including, an octopus, sea lions and a beluga whale.

"Modern Family" star Ty Burrell is reportedly portraying the role of Bailey, the beluga whale, while "The Wire" stars Dominic West and Idris Elba are also set to lend their voices in "Finding Dory" in unknown characters yet.

Shortlist.com previously reported that West announced his reunion with co-star Alba in "Finding Nemo" sequel saying,

"I saw Idris recently. We're both in the sequel to 'Finding Nemo,'" West revealed.

Confirmed returning cast members are Albert Brooks as Marlin the clown fish, Willem Dafoe as Gill, Vicki Lewis as Deb and her sister Flo and Ellen De Generes as Dory.

While, "Something's Gotta Give" actress Diane Keaton and "American Pie" actor Eugene Levy will be playing Dory's "lost" parents.

"Finding Dory" release date is all set on June 17, 2016 to coincide with Pixar's 30th anniversary celebration.
