‘Ghostbusters 3’ Male Version Is Happening! Chris Pratt & Channing Tatum May Star In The Reboot

There have been rumors coming out that there will be a male version of "Ghostbusters 3."

Based on the leaked emails from Sony Pictures, Chris Pratt and Channing Tatum were the ones who pitched the idea to the studio.

The Russo brothers will be producing the reboot while the "Jurassic World" actor and "Magic Mike XXL" star headline the film.

However, the 36-year-old actor denied the rumors when he was asked by GQ last May.

"No one has ever even spoken to me about that. Never," Pratt said. He even admitted that he had seen Tatum a couple of times, but he never mentioned that project to him. "As far as I know, that's complete bulls-t," he added.

Many fans were disappointed when they heard that there will be no male version of "Ghostbusters 3" but that changed when "Mission Impossible 5" writer Drew Pearce confirmed that he has just worked on the reboot's script.

"I've finished my work on that in the last couple weeks," the 39-year-old film writer told MTV.

"Obviously it's top secret, but there's a gigantic bold idea that I came up with, and the Russo brothers - who did 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' and are doing 'Civil War' at the moment - and Ivan Reitman, who did the original movie, are going to take that and run with it. Obviously I cannot tell you what it is, but hopefully in one year's time you'll know!" Pearce added.

The "Iron Man 3" writer was also asked if the rumors are true that Chris Pratt and Channing Tatum will headline the male version of the popular film franchise.

"That's definitely the cast we've been thinking about as we approach the project," Pearce confessed. "Whether that happens or not is very much above my pay grade. It's just my job to give them something exciting that maybe they'll do."

Not everyone was happy about Paul Feig's female version of the "Ghostbusters 3" so doing a male version may please some of the die-hard fans.

"My personal inclination is to try and make everything occur in the same 'Ghostbusters' universe, because I feel, as a fan, that's what I would want," Drew Pearce said.

Back in February, Dan Aykroyd hinted that there will be more "Ghostbusters" movies coming out. "There are three drafts of the old concept that exists. And we're going to be able to salvage some of it and use it," he revealed to The Hollywood Reporter.

"Let's get this one made and that will reinvigorate the franchise and then we'll go on to maybe doing a more conventional third sequel as we were planning and another idea I have for it," he added. So there's a huge possibility that a male version of "Ghostbusters 3" will be released soon.
