Alaric To Turn Into A Drunkard On 'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7?

Too bad for Alaric Saltzman on "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 as he will reportedly have "secret desires" with witches and psychics, as well as become a drunkard.

Fans and viewers have seen Alaric Saltzman get some good booze with Damon Salvatore in some episodes of "The Vampire Diaries." But on Season 7, he will rely more on alcoholic beverages than ever before, a report by the International Business Times said.

"He's not going to recover so easily," said executive producer Julie Plec in the report. "He's going to explore his grief in some unconventional ways involving a lot of booze and some secret desires that involve psychics and witches to try to contact the dead and God knows what else."

It could be remembered that Alaric lost his loved one before the previous season of "The Vampire Diaries" ended. Season 7 is going to be much worse for him, as what the producer have explained.

"This is not an easy transition for him. He's already been through so much and now he's going through this," Plec added. "This is about as horrible and despicable a thing that could happen."

Nevertheless, the executive producer assured that Alaric "will bounce back" as "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 progresses.

"I like to put him in situations that are really terrible because he forces him to dig as deep as he can," she said. "I love that. I love messing with Alaric. We'll be rooting for him to come out to the other side."

Not only will Alaric go through some dark moments. It has been earlier reported that Damon will come back to his darker self as "The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 begins. One major reason is because of Elena's loss.

Franchise Herald reported that Damon "will wallow in despair" after the death of the female lead character. He will reportedly become darker and messier.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 will begin this fall on The CW.
