'Arrow' Season 4 Spoiler: Malcolm Merlyn, Enemy Or Not? John Barrowman Says He Will Keep Fans Guessing

Starling City will face a new formidable foe. "Arrow" season 4 spoiler has long revealed who Stephen Amell's Oliver Queen will face next.

His name is Damien Darhk (to be played by Neal McDonough), a renegade member of the League of Assassins and archrival of Ra's al Ghul.

This new big bad is described by show's executive producers as the "Prince of Darkness." There are also other minor villains coming but mostly for flashbacks before the Emerald Archer returned to Starling City.

Amid all these villain-related "Arrow" season 4 spoilers, Team Arrow should be careful. They must not get fooled by what happened in the third season.

An old enemy is right beside them, joined their meeting at some point. Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) has joined Team Arrow last season to topple Ra's al Ghul.

He even acted as a leader of the team while Oliver Queen was away. Now that he has been granted the Head of the Demon title, watch out because he only becomes more dangerous.

During the San Diego Comic-Con last month, Barrowman cleared that although Malcolm Merlyn has done good things in third season, it will still be hard to classify him as hero or villain.

"At first, it seemed like Malcolm Merlyn was evil, but then he started being fatherly. So when you watch him, you're not sure which side of good and bad he's going to fall on," a fan asked to which John Barrowman replied:

"That's the point. We want you to think, 'Oh, he's changing. He's really good.' And then a split second later go, 'I hate him!' So he goes back and forth, but I don't think Malcolm will ever become soft..."

Although Barrowman remains mum about Malcolm Merlyn's allegiance, he assures that "Arrow" season 4 premiere will be intense.

"Bring your tissues, bring everything" said Barrowman in an interview with TV Line two months ago. "It's one of those episodes where, when you're watching, you're gonna go, 'What?!?!"

"Arrow" season 4 premiere is October 7.
