President Obama, North Korean Leader Kim Jong-Un Hugging Tight? They Also Sang Together?

Aug 11, 2015 12:32 PM EDT | By Jon Lindley Agustin

President Barack Obama and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un recently went viral because of photos of the hugging each other tight in a tea ad in China.

Reddit user TurboCancer broke the news yesterday after sharing an image of what appeared to be a Chinese tea ad featuring President Obama and Kim Jong-un hugging tight.

Huffington Post picked up the post and translated the text. Reportedly promoting a sweet tea, the Chinese ad with President Obama and Kim Jong-un in it says, "After drinking , the people of the world will become united."

The Chinese tea ad already generated more than 130 comments on Reddit and trended on social media, with users sarcastically praising the moment between President Obama and Kim Jong-un.

"A rough translation of this would be 'after you drink (name of tea) the people of the world will be in harmony," says user bobsmilkbone.

"I could guess from the context that the writing said something along the lines of 'our tea will make you relax' but in a cute pun-y sort of way, only because the tea companies in the US use the same marketing tactic," commented user Totallynotacylon.

The leader's song duet

Garnering more than 130,000 views as of press time, a YouTube video showing impersonators of President Barack Obama and Kim Jong-un singing together in Hongdae also trended months ago.

It seems that people are fancying the "friendship" between the two.

The video showed the Obama impersonator dressed down in his polo and tie - the iconic white polo and blue necktie -- strumming a guitar in the middle of a plaza with a crowd watching him.

He started singing the song "All By Myself" when the Kim Jong-un impersonator made an entrance in his black garment, and began playing the percussions.

The video ended with the impersonator of the North Korean leader bringing the Obama impersonator to a taxi cab, leaving the premises.
