Call it a journey through hell twice the fun, as reports said there are two upcoming movies in the works that are based on Dante Alighieri's classic work "Inferno." These movies will reportedly be produced by Warner Bros. and Universal.

Deadline broke the news about one of the Dante's "Inferno" movies last Wednesday afternoon, when it said Warner Bros. has purchased the pitch from screenwriter Dwain Worrell to turn the classic literary epic into a film.

This Dante's "Inferno" movie by Warner Bros. is reportedly going to have a romantic angle, as Dante goes through the circles of hell in a mission "to save the woman he loves."

Not only will this story excite fans and literature geeks, as the report said this Dante's "Inferno" movie has a "franchise potential." Will viewers see more movies about "Paradiso" and "Purgatorio"?

"Nik Manikurve and Chantal Nong brought it in for Warner Bros and they will shepherd it with Hollywood Gang's Shannon Gaulding and Weed Road's Greg Lessans," the report said. "You might remember Worrell. He was the writer who, while living in China, got Amazon Studios to bite on 'The Wall,' his first big script written while he was living in China."

Dante's 'Inferno' movie by Universal

If viewers will not be satisfied of the "evil" in the Warner Bros. movie, Universal is reportedly making another movie based on the video game that revolves around Dante's journey through hell to save his loved one.

Website Inverse reported that Fede Alvare, "Evil Dead" reboot director "is developing a movie based on the Electronic Arts video game, which tells the story of Dante's descent into the underworld to rescue his amore."

The video game, according to the official website of EA, is based on the first part of Dante's "The Divine Comedy," that is, "Inferno." The game allows the players to battle with monsters in hell and to travel through the nine circles.

More details about these two Dante's "Inferno" movies will be released soon.
