Guillermo Del Toro Working With Hideo Kojima Again! Will They Finally Continue 'Silent Hills' Following Fans Petition?

Aug 27, 2015 08:25 PM EDT | By Sherylyn Toda

It has been quite a while since Konami announced that "Silent Hills" will no longer move forward.

However, fans are still hoping that a miracle will happen making it possible for creator Hideo Kojimo to finally release the highly anticipated game.

After launching a petition to continue with the development of "Silent Hills," has director Guillermo del Toro finally gave in?

In a previous interview with IGN, del Toro admitted that he already saw the petition and in his efforts to show his support for it, he claimed that he will add his signature to it.

"Norman [Reedus, the Walking Dead actor who was attached to play the lead role] was super happy, Hideo was super happy, and so was I," he said their feelings about the game prior its cancellation.

"I know there's a petition going on the internet and it's gathering signatures. I would add my signature to it, and hope that someone pays attention."

However, while admitting that he is again working with Hideo Kojima during in a recent interview with IGN, it seems like Guillermo del Toro has already crushed fans' hope when he revealed that the project they are working together with does not involve "Silent Hills."

"I love working with Kojima-san," Del Toro explained. "We are still in touch. We are still friends and working into doing something together, but that's not going to be [Silent Hills]."

Read the petition posted at Change.org below:

"Dear Hideo and Guillermo,

hearing the cancellation of one of the most anticipated horror games is about the most heartbreaking thing horror fans had to swallow this year.

Since the first sight of the P.T Demo it was instant love, and it burned into the minds of everyone that this had to release at some point.

Although the reasons are not yet announced I am begging you along with countless others: Please continue the Development on Silent Hills, if the issue is money related, we would love to see a Crowdfunding campaign like Kickstarter to ensure you are getting all the financial help there is! We´d love to see it happen at some point and want to thank you for all the great games you have released so far!

Greetings

-Yauheni "
