While Theo James and Shailene Woodley are reportedly busy with their off-screen relationships with partners Ruth Kearney and Nakho Bear, the 30-year-old English actor has opened up about doing intimate scenes with his on-screen partner.
Now that he's more famous than ever, James has been tapped to become the face of the new Hugo Boss cologne called Boss: The Scent, and while he's very excited with his new endorsement James also talked about his movie series "Divergent."
In an interview with Yahoo!, James was asked if he ever felt that he's also a superhero in real life in line with his character Four in the scifi adventure series.
"No, probably not," he admitted. "I think, you know, even if I have, if I said it then I would sound like a d-khead. I get the concept of saying I'm like a hero, but it's kind of a tough one."
Moreover, despite being constantly linked to his partner, Shailene Woodley, Theo James was brave enough to talk about their intimate scenes in the movie.
In a seperate interview with MTV, he admitted that Shailene felt a little awkward during their first kissing scene, but he on the other hand, "went at it hard."
"I just went at it hard, to be honest, because I thought that's how she wanted it. I thought to assuage any awkwardness I would just go for it. She was kind of batting away my hands," he confessed.
Their closeness became apparent following the first "Divergent" movie, which apparently led to their fans wanting them to become a real couple in real life as well.
Despite feeling eerie about rumors constantly linking them to one another, James said that he wanted to work with Shailene Woodley again once the "Divergent" series is done.
According to Venture Capital Post, James admitted that "while filming continues for the much anticipated 3rd movie of the Divergent series, Theo James has revealed that he wants to be able to work with actress Shailene Woodley even after they finish with the series."
And in a previous interview with Screen Crave, James shared how their characters, Tris and Four "gravitate towards" each other.
"I think she's fascinated by him, but also doesn't understand his motivations," James revealed of Shailene Woodley's character.
"He seems to be very cold and momentarily hot. That is something that a lot of relationships gravitate towards. He sees in her something unique and dynamic in a world where he sees lots of people coming through the system. Inherently I think it's an interesting relationship because it's not based on lots of swooning. It's essentially two people who respect each other and he really respects her. He sees that she's completely selfless but also strong. And she sees his rippling abs [Laughs]."
Furthermore, he also revealed how he had a great time doing their kissing scenes as he shared how much he wanted to make their relationship look "genuine" in the movie for the fans to enjoy.
"With Shai, as much as possible I just wanted to practice the kissing scene," he laughingly said.
Adding "No, but in a real way, we wanted that to be as good as possible. We wanted it to be good and for it to fulfill the things it needed to fulfill, but to be real and not cheesy. We actually shot that a second time cause the first time didn't feel quite right. Hopefully it's earned cause there's not a lot of batting eyelashes or fawning in the film. It's kind of a tough, intricate and complex relationship. When they eventually kiss, I hope it's genuine."
