Xiaomi Mi5 Release Date Set By The End Of November, New Leaked Detail Revealed

Xiaomi Mi5 release date is set for November, according to a new leaked detail.

An unnamed source from Beijing, China claimed that the Xiaomi Mi5 will make its public appearance "by the end of November" of this year, 2015, WCCFTECH reported.

Previously, the upcoming device is rumored to run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 820. But due to production issues that the chipset won't be ready by the first quarter of 2016, a MediaTek chipset could be one of the choices.

As per GSM Arena, the leaked Antutu benchmark score of 73,075, which was surprisingly higher than Exynos 7420 running on the Samsung's latest flagship devices, points out to a different processor.

The tech site noted that Xiaomi may "opted" for the Mediatek Helio X20 Soc which lists "a tri-cluster CPU with a total of 10 cores," but the leaked TENAA certification of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi5 revealed only 8 cores.

WCCFTECH added that the Xiaomi Mi5 will be released in two chipset variants of Snapdragon 820 and 810 in which the latter will be priced cheaper.

With these different rumors, it's too early to rule out the Snapdragon 820. Thus, there's still a possibility that we might be seeing the Mi5 running on that chipset.

The Xiaomi Mi5 will feature a curved screen display and a metal frame body, the alleged leaked images suggest, Phone Arena reported.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi Mi5's still unknown chipset will be paired with 4GB of RAM, and will sport a 5.2-inch with QHD resolution 1440p.

On the camera-side, it will support a 16MP on its rear and 5MP on the front. While its onboard storage won't get a microSD card expansion as Xiaomi has discontinued microSD support on its devices. So, a 128GB version might be in tow.
