Robin Lord Taylor teased in a "Gotham" season 2 episode guide that one day, his Oswald Cobblepot and Corey Michael Smith's Edward Nygma will soon have a team up.
"I think I can also say that Nygma and Penguin will come back together in some major ways this season, and it's really exciting," Taylor told in exclusive interview with Comicbook.com.
This is surely a big leap for Nygma who this season is growing into a darker version of himself. That is not the only thing to expect from the weirdo inside GCPD.
The next few "Gotham" season 2 episode guides will be mainly about him as Smith himself confirmed at least three hours were especially made for him.
"For a very long time, I'll be in every episode," he told Zap2it. "I'll certainly be present, but episodes 4, 6 and 7 are massive for me."
How these episodes will go down? Smith said it will be "bad-a**."
"We will be going to my house," Smith teased. "It's pretty bada**. I'm a little biased because it is my apartment but it's really awesome. They went all out, it's super kitschy and creative - there's so many little details that are so Nygma, lilt the place mats are bubble wrap, the kitchen is filled with tools for gastronomy. It's amazing, really clever and totally within the aesthetic realm of 'Gotham.'"
Nygam's rise was first teased by Ben McKenzie in May wherein he said "The Riddler" the villain name of Nygma, will come into full play in the show.
"So I think we'll play with that and play with that, but yeah, The Riddler will definitely be a significant character. Whether he is technically Riddler yet or not in Season Two, he's going to be a major character," he told Comic Book Resources.
The show returns next week for the episode called "Rise of the Villains: Scarification."
