NBA Trade Rumors: Chicago Bulls Star Derrick Rose Up For A Shock Move?

Oct 22, 2015 09:57 PM EDT | By Rolly Gacelo

It's amazing how Derrick Rose's name don't get dragged to several NBA trade rumors after going down with injury in 2012.

Looks like the 2011 NBA MVP needs to get used to seeing his name in several NBA trade rumors from now on. Not only his importance to the Chicago Bulls has diminished but also because of the major changes in the team.

Yibada reported that the spitfire combo guard might be put on the trading block in the coming weeks.

"The rumor was first reported by Marc Cantave at Sportsblog, saying that with all the injury issues the Bulls had to deal with Rose for the past several years and his currently alleged beef with some of the team's key players, it seems like Chicago is ready to give up on their franchise player," Yibada wrote.

Rose, who already tried a mask for his face injury, is still out and could miss a couple of months. He and Jimmy Butler, last season's Most Improved Player, allegedly have some beef going on with the latter wanting to be the main man of the team.

Basketball Insiders wrote a couple of days ago that Chicago Bulls should explore the idea of trading a marquee player to be able to retain other key players.

"Now, Portis is demanding minutes of his own and Gibson looks like he could be the odd man out," the sports website wrote.

"This year, Chicago has over $36 million tied up in their backcourt of Jimmy Butler and Derrick Rose and while Noah might not make $13.4 million again next season after exploring free agency, the team will very likely consider bringing him back. Meanwhile, Gibson and Gasol don't face free agency until the summer of 2017 (assuming Gasol declines to pick up his player option worth just shy of $8 million, which could potentially happen if he plays at an All-Star level again this season). Mirotic is clearly around for the long haul, so this isn't a one-year problem. This logjam could conceivably exist for the next two seasons."

Should Chicago trade Derrick Rose or should they not? Watch for more NBA trade rumors in the coming days.
