'Supergirl' Episode 2 Postmortem: Is Cyborg Superman Coming Based On That Twist On [Spoiler]?

"Supergirl" episode 2 titled "Stronger Together" saw the Kryptonian hero struggled being a hero she wants to be.

Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) successfully moved a ship in them middle of a big fire but she broke it open and caused an oil spill, forcing media to brand her as eco-terrorist.

She was able to recover though, thanks to the help of her friends James Olsen, Winn, sister Alex, and her boss Hank Henshaw (David Harewood).

Although it is good to see them come together and help each other, one particular scene in the episode triggered a terrifying theory. One of Kara's friends might one day end up on the other side.

Gen. Henshaw's eyes turned red in one specific scene, probably a nod to the origin of his character. Or maybe not a nod but a hint of what he will eventually become.

In the comics, Henshaw turned into Cyborg Superman and battled the Man of Steel who he blames for his family's death. Is this story something the CBS TV series is going to touch?

Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg refuses to discuss what happened to Henshaw in "Supergirl" episode 2 but he dropped one name, Tom Cavanagh.

"If you're a comic book fan, you probably have a hint as to why his eyes are glowing red," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly when asked to explain the twist in "Supergirl" episode 2.

"We don't want to say too much about it, because I think we had a lot of success with the way we doled out information about Tom Cavanagh's character last year on Flash. For us, it's so exciting to walk into every scene with him and not know is he there to help you? Or is he possibly there to harm you? That dichotomy and how it plays out is one of the most exciting, unexpected parts of the show. It was something we were actually going to do in the pilot, but we decided to wait."

To those who don't know, Tom Cavanagh is playing Harrison Wells/Reverse Flash in CW TV series "The Flash" which Kreisberg also co-produce.

He started as a good friend and mentor for Grant Gustin's Barry Allen but turned out, he has evil plans. Now, if this is applied to David Harewood's Henshaw, the picture is pretty much set. However, it is hard to know whether CBS will turn him into Cyborg Superman.

"Supergirl" episode three is titled "Fight or Flight". Read episode guide below.

"Supergirl's powers are tested when Reactron, one of Superman's formidable enemies, arrives in National City and targets the young hero. Also, Cat plans to run an exposé on Supergirl."
