'How To Get Away With Murder' Spoiler: Clues People Missed About Real Wes-Annalise Connection

The latest "How to Get Away with Murder" season 2 episode is probably the closest answer fans can get when it comes to the question - what is up with Annalise Keating and Wes Gibbins?

Ever since the start of the show earlier this year, there is some irresistible connection between the characters of Viola Davis and Alfred Enoch. Many of the fans think they are more than just teacher and students to each other.

In Thursday's episode called "I Want You to Die", Annalise spoke for the first time about her deeper relationship with Wes. She told former lover Eve Rothlow (Famke Jannsen) that "It's him."

Those are just two words but they are enough to send viewers into frenzy.

Turned out, the show has already dropped clues about how deep the connection is between Wes and Annalise in the first episode.

"I'd love to say yes, I knew exactly what was going to be between them, but that would be a lie," series creator Peter Nowalk told TV Line when asked if making Annalise and Wes connected to each other is part of the plan since the beginning.

"It's a thing where you watch and react. I remember in the pilot, when Viola was scolding him in the lecture hall, she brought so much more of a feeling of care in her eyes than I'd pictured, and it grew out of there. They're one of the central relationships - if not the central relationship - so I watch how they play it, I watch how much she protects him, and in some ways I'm following the story like the rest of you. And I'm really excited about what we've come up with: It feels very true and real and interesting. But I did not plan any of it."

Nowalk was also asked if the questions about the two will be answered by end of the season and his answer screams "Don't get your hopes up."

"Since the whole season's not written, I can't promise anything," he said.

"But we will provide more answers than you got in this episode - for sure. It's not our goal to frustrate people; it's our goal to intrigue people. And part of that intrigue is giving you answers."

Next episode is called "Hi, I'm Philip." Read synopsis here.
