Ronda Rousey Will Break PPV Records When She Fights Next In Boxing Says Oscar De La Hoya

Nov 14, 2015 06:24 PM EST | By Rolly Gacelo

Ronda Rousey's next fight is against Holly Holm and fans felt the intensity of it after the two almost got into a scuffle during the weigh in. That is probably enough to hype the match.

Now, if ever Ronda Rousey fights in boxing, Oscar De La Hoya doesn't think the female MMA fighter needs anything to hype her gig. The former boxing champion turned promoter thinks her name alone is enough to break pay-per-view records.

"Ronda Rousey is the hottest athlete right now," the Golden Boy Promotions CEO told Boxing Scene.

"She's the 'It Girl'. The fact is that she wants to be a world champion in boxing, she's mentioned it. She wants to try it out. When Ronda Rousey is ready to become a boxer, I told her Golden Boy Promotions is ready to welcome her with open arms.

"I've spoken with her a few times, she's interested in becoming a boxer. If the UFC ever gives her permission, we're here. Maybe some collaboration. It would be very interesting. We can shatter records. I can imagine four million pay-per-views for Ronda's very first fight."

Is there a possibility that Ronda Rousey's next fight will be in the boxing ring? The 28-year old MMA champ herself is looking forward to it.

"I want to be remembered as one of the greatest fighters of all time in any sport," Rousey said on October 28 in front of members of the press.

"I would love to have a chance to be the boxing world champion, I would love to have a chance to be the jiu-jitsu world champion, and I would love to have the chance to beat the previous world champions and just be the best all at one point."

She also insists that she is serious about dominating the sport.

"To be honest, my goals are so crazy. That's what I would really want to do, I don't know if I even have the time, I want to do so many things."
