The French Premiere of Tom Hardy's newest film "Legend," which was scheduled on Tuesday at the Olympia Theater in Paris, was cancelled following the terrorist attack in the city on Friday.

In its report, The Hollywood Reporter said that the organizers announced on Monday that Parisian "Legend" premiere is called off.

"Following the tragic events of this weekend, we decided to cancel the premiere of the movie 'Legend' which was scheduled tomorrow, Tuesday, at the Olympia. We thank you for your understanding," a representative from Vivendi company told The Hollywood Reporter in an email.

Tom Hardy, "Legend's" main star, was not expected to attend the French premiere, however. Although British singer Duffy, who plays Timi Yuro in the film, was supposedly coming for a special performance.

Tom Hardy is playing identical twin gangsters Reggie and Ronnie Kray in Brian Helgeland's "Legend." Reggie and Ronnie Kray are notorious gangsters in London during the 1960's.

Director Helgeland, in an interview during the Toronto International Film Festival, said that at first he was doubtful about casting Tom Hardy for the twin role, saying, "I was a little leery of it at first. There's a tradition of casting one actor to play twins in movies, but usually in those movies, I just can't get into it. I keep looking at it and not thinking about the movie.

Tom Hardy, on the other hand, said in an interview with The New York Times that he had to figure out best way to act with himself.

"I would record both the brothers' dialogue in the morning, so that we could have a guideline for Jacob [Tomuri, his stunt double] to mime while I spoke as the other," Hardy told The New York Times. To do that, both Hardy and Tomuri had earphones to hear the side of the conversation recorded beforehand then they would switch position and record again.

When "Legend" opened in September, it broke box office records by becoming the biggest all-time opening for an 18 certificate (R-rated) British film. It also became the best-ever U.K. debut for a film from Studiocanal.
