Ragnar's Fate Possibly Revealed Through Newly-Released 'Vikings' Season 4 Photo

"Vikings" season 4 release date is March 26, 2015 and that still seems far for many fans of the History Channel TV series.

That is a far date especially for those who have doubts whether Travis Fimmel's Ragnar Lothbrok will die or not this new season.

The show has released its trailer a few months ago. However, there is little to no clue at all whether the king of the Northmen will survive.

The latest post from the show's Instagram might have just confirmed what most Ragnar fans fear the most. History Vikings account released a photo of Alexander Ludwig's Bjorn. It would have been an ordinary set photo but there is something odd. Bjorn already has a gray beard.

The photo instantly raised questions about the age of Bjorn in "Vikings" season 4. Is it an indication that the first born of the king from Kattegat has already grown into a mature leader and took over his father? If that's the case, where's Ragnar by that time. Check the photo below.

Photos like this make only fans feel excited about "Vikings" season 4 release date. In earlier reports, series creator Michael Hirst hinted that the show could live without Ragnar Lothbrok who in the last season has been very ill.

He also said that the fourth season is time to "man up" other characters, most especially Bjorn and other sons of Ragnar.

"Ragnar's death has been reported the past few days," Crossmap wrote.

"Supposedly, since Ragnar was hovering between life and death in the last season of Vikings, he will die in the upcoming fifth season of Vikings which will pave the way for Bjorn to take over his throne. The cast and crew of Vikings have been hinting on Ragnar's death almost as soon as the season ended."

"I've always seen Vikings without Ragnar," he told The Hollywood Reporter after show's finale many months ago.

"I thought it was very important when I started thinking about this whole thing that Ragnar had many sons and some of his sons became more famous than he was. So I can perfectly well envision a world without Ragnar and further adventures for the sons. Absolutely. That's something I really, really want to do."
