Xiaomi Mi 4 US Release Date Looming; Reportedly Passed FCC Certfication

Xiaomi Mi 4 US release date could be imminent as it was reportedly passed FCC certification.

Previously, Hugo Barra reiterated that the Chinese tech giant might test the waters in the US market but the company might face "series of disadvantages for a successful launch", and "left an impression that this won't be happening anytime soon," PhoneArena reported.

But after Xiaomi, dubbed as the "Apple of China," brought its Mi Store in the Us which sells Xioami accessories. The much awaited release of its smartphones in the US might be happening anytime soon. It's 2014 flagship device Xioami Mi 4 has been said to be approved to enter the US market through FCC certification, Christian Post reported.

The FCC filing documents didn't reveal its specs. But many have speculated that the US version will carry the same specs and features of the Xiaomi Mi 4.

The 2014 flagship device packs a 5-inch screen display along with a full HD 1080p resolution.Un der its hood, is a Qualcomm 2.5GHz Krait 400 CPU paired with Adreno 330 GPU. It has also 3GB of RAM and an option of 16GB or 64GB of internal storage. On its camera side, it sports a 13MP rear camera with Sony Exmor IMX214 rear-facing camera on Xiaomi Mi4 and a Xiaomi Mi4's 8MP Sony Exmor IMX219 front camera.

Moreoever, it supports 4G LTE, 802.1ac wi-fi and packs a 3,800mah battery.

Aside from the Xioami Mi 4 US variant, Microsoft Operating System Software Engineer revealed on Weibo that a Windows variant of the Xiaomi Mi 4 will be unveiled soon, WMPU reported,

"Thanksgiving Day is around the corner, so is the public release of Windows 10 for Mi 4."

Tech Times  noted that the Microsoft employee who shared the news on Chinese social media site Weibo is one of the OS developers. Thus, this information could be accurate.

Christian post added that the Xiaomi Mi 4 expected release date will be on Nov. 26.
