"Outlander" season 2 release date is still an eternity away but when it comes to cast, the Starz TV series is nearing completion.

Reports have it that another "Game of Thrones star has been enlisted for the sophomore run of the show based on novel by Diana Gabaldon.

"Clive Rusell has been cast as Jamie Fraser's manipulative grandfather Simon Fraser, AKA 'The Old Fox'," Spoiler TV wrote.

"Simon Fraser, 11th Lord Lovat, was the father of Brian Fraser and grandfather of Jamie Fraser. Jamie, at the behest of Charles Stuart, meets with Simon to negotiate sending troops to support the Stuart rebellion."

Russell is the second "Game of Thrones" actor to join the show after Tobias Menzies who played Edmure Tully in the hit HBO TV series. Followers of the show will not see Menzies when "Outlander" season 2 release date arrives since his character Frank Randall/Jonathan "Black Jack" Randall, the wife from the present of Claire Beauchamp (Caitriona Balfe) and tormentor of Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), has already been killed in first season's finale.

Just last month, "Game of Thrones" lead star Sophie Turner was also linked to "Outlander" after Heughan retweeted a fan's suggestion that she should play Jamie's daughter Brianna who is yet to be cast. However, she refuted the rumor saying she will stay with her one true love which is the George RR Martin-based series.

Oscar Kennedy is another actor who has joined "Outlander" Season 2 cast. The young artist, who hails from Nottingham, United Kingdom, will play Lord John Grey.

"In addition to Russell, "Outlander" season 2 spoilers also indicate that the network has already found its Lord John Grey in Kennedy," Your Health Magazine reported. "The 16-year-old actor was chosen to portray the young Lord. Although this information has remained neither confirmed nor denied by the network at this point, it is still making its rounds all over the Internet."
