'Outlander' Season 2 Trailer/Teaser Released: First Look At Pregnant Claire And More Action

Dec 01, 2015 08:48 PM EST | By Rolly Gacelo

"Outlander" season 2 released its first ever teaser and it features a pregnant Claire who despite her condition is determined to fulfill her duty.

Executive producer Ronald Moore previously said "Outlander" season 2 release date could be around March or April next year. That's a bit for and the intriguing teaser/trailer won't do any help.

Claire (Caitriona Balfe) is pregnant and her husband Jamie (Sam Heughan) has some qualms about what they are doing in France. Earlier spoilers revealed the main challenge for e while also fulfilling their mission to change the future for the sake of Scotland.

The clip also featured sword fights, royal dinner, Fraser couple's discussion on how to thwart the Jacobite uprising, and more.

If the first season focused on Jamie and Claire's personal battle, they will be more involved this time on politics. The Scottish warrior also has a secret mission which he will use to forget about the ordeal he and his wife went through in the hands of Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies).

"I think this season Claire kind of sees that he needs something else to take his mind off what had happened and to give him some sort of other reason for getting up in the morning and going to do stuff," Balfe said in an interview with Blastr back in August.

"She uses the politics and gives him this mission, in a way, to sort of help him get passed what happened."

"The idea they have of changing the future, she uses it like a mission and something for Jamie to put his focus and energy into so he's not dwelling on what's happened. In a way she sacrificed herself a little bit because she's dealing with her pregnancy on her own in a way. They are going through a very complicated time in their relationship. It's not an easy time for them, but it's beautiful to watch how they figure out a way to support each other."
