Huawei Mate 8 Sells Like Hotcakes In China; International Release Announcement Could Be At CES 2016

Huawei Mate 8 is now official in China.

Dubbed as the "Samsung Galaxy Note 5 killer," Huawei Mate 8 goes on sale on its homeland Wednesday.

GSM Arena reported, the latest flagship device is now out of stock in most retailers. Interestingly, Huawei head He Gang has already predicted the demand of the Kirin 950 powered phone.

He also said that the company will manufacture one million units of Huawei 8. Whereas, it could beat Ascend 7's seven million units sold last year.

All Huawei Mate 8's variants are available in China and priced differently. The three regular variants priced at CNY 2,999 ($470) for the 3GB/32GB model, CNY 3699 ($580) for the 4GB/64GB model, CNY 4399 ($690) for the 4GB/128GB model, and the exclusive champagne edition or the premium variant costs CNY 6888 ($1075).

According to NDTV, pulls off a 6-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) resolution IPS LCD display with a calculated pixel density of 367.2 ppi.

Under the hood, all variants are powered by Huawei's very own octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor (four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz + four Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 2.4GHz) along with Mali-T880MP4 GPU clocked at 900MHz. Huawei Mate 8 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Emotion UI 4.0.

As for its camera, it has a "16-megapixel rear camera powered by Sony IMX298 sensor with OIS, f/2.0 aperture, phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) and 1.12um pixel size, alongside an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with Sony IMX179 sensor and f/2.4 aperture."

There is also a whopping 4000mAh battery that runs the phone in full power. Moreover, other features include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Micro-USB 2.0, GPS, DLNA, Bluetooth, 4G, NFC connectivity options and fingerprint sensor at the back just below the rear camera.

Huawei Mate 8 international release and pricing details is expected to be announced at Consumer Electronics Show 2016, in January, Christian Today  reported.
