Diana Gabaldon has explained already why "Outlander" season 2 release date is set on a later date.

This does not exactly soothes the aching hearts of fans.

Although "Outlander" season 2 release date is taking too long, executive producer Ronaldo Moore assures they will get a show that is better than ever.

"It's bigger and different," he told The Wrap when asked about the second season of STARZ TV series.

"Season 1 was primarily in Scotland so it was Scottish castles, stone walls, heavy wood, more of a rustic world. Now we've traveled to 18th Century Paris, which was the most populous, most sophisticated city in the world at the time."

He also gave a hint of what kind of missions and adventures lead couple Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) will be up to.

"Claire and Jamie are plotting a conspiracy to stop the Jacobite rebellion, so it's a more political show, more historical currents of the time, we look at aristocracy, the court of Louis XV, so visually it's a whole different palette," he adds. "It's fattening and gilt and candelabras, just a more rich world. And it's more French and you're dealing with historical figures for the first time."

"Outlander" cast and crew are just a few days removed from a victorious night. The show based on novel series by Gabaldon snatched three nominations from the 2016 Golden Globe Awards.

They are competing for Best Television Series - Drama, Best Actress - Television Series Drama for Balfe, and Best Supporting Actor - Series, Miniseries or Television Film for Tobias Menzies who played last season's villain Jonathan "Black Jack" Randall.

Heughan was not recognized by the award body and Moore is sad about that. He feels that the Scottish actor should have been nominated as he, Balfe, and Menzies come as a package.

"He was a huge part of the success of the show. We've always thought of he, Cait, and Tobias as our big three," Moore told Entertainment Weekly. "It's just a very competitive year, a very tough field. I wish Sam was included, but in our hearts he absolutely is because he's incredibly deserving."

"Outlander" season 2 release date is said to be around March or April next year.
