Rick And Morty' Season 3 Update: What To Expect In The New Season?

Dec 17, 2015 06:05 PM EST | By Edward Ragpala

For season 3 of "Rick and Morty," there are update reports claiming that there will be no more time travelling.

In fact, show creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland had made a decision that the time travelling plot will be taken out of the story line, according to iSchoolGuide.

The time travel story, according to Harmon and Roiland, is one work that is very difficult to accomplish. "Time travel is a real shark-jumper. Once you introduce it to the canon of your show, it's just a dangerous toy to pull out," according to Harmon.

In the season 2 finale of the show, fans and viewers were treated with fun and adventure between Morty and his grandfather named Rick, a scientist who has troubles keeping up with his alcohol.

Fans are still waiting for some update for "Rick and Morty" season 3 although the show creators have already clarified that the franchise has not been finalized yet.

"I've been jotting ideas down, yeah. Nothing super fleshed out, but there are definitely little seeds," according to Roiland.

However, in an update by Movie Pilot, the animated TV series shown in Adult Swim will start their season 3 with the creators revisiting their earlier works.

In Season 3, according to the post, the characters may travel to the "Dog World," which is the title of the unaired animatic pilot that Roiland made for Cartoon Network back in 2012. In addition, the theme song of the series has its origins in "Dog World."

Though the creators of the show gave only a pinch of an update for "Rick and Morty" Season 3, the theory may and can still hold a little bit of truth with it.

In an interview with Hollywood Reporter back in October, Roiland and Harmon were asked about their plans for the third season and Roiland said there's nothing has been "fleshed out" but "there are definitely little seeds."
