Fans are thrilled and excited that the first trailer for "Independence Day: Resurgence" has been released.
The said upcoming movie is the sequel to the alien invasion blockbuster first shown almost 20 years ago. The setting will be 20 years after the first extra-terrestrial attack, "Resurgence" is going to be a reunion for Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman and will be directed by Rolland Emmerich.
The movie will be full of shiny new technological equipments to get rid of the aliens trying to take over our world.
However, there is an ongoing question with the "Independence Day: Resurgence." And that is, where in the world is Will Smith? To answer that, we're not entirely sure ourselves as to why.
According to Maxim, the film is going to lack charisma without the charming Capt. Steve Hiller which was played by Smith.
His action-comedic peak when outrunning alien fighters will surely be missed.
"Despite their grim, intense performances in the Resurgence trailer, Goldblum and Pullman don't seem like enough to carry the film without Smith's sharp wit as a foil for their gritty self-seriousness," the post said, written by Jarred Keller.
In the post by Movie Pilot, there are some big reveals that may spark your interest with "Independence Day: Resurgence."
Some of these things are the following:
- That it will have a "Star Wars" feel to it. Not that it is being compared to the space saga films, but definitely there are a few scenes that will remind you of a galaxy far far away.
- Expect to be blown away by special effects. The film will be filled with stunning visual effects since this is a Rolland Emmerich film.
- Except for Will Smith, majority of the cast will be back for "Independence Day: Resurgence." Vivica A. Fox, Judd Hirsch and Brent Spinner will be back to whoop down some alien ass together with Goldblum and Bill Pullman.
