Two bald eagles talons were clenched with among one another sparking the interest of onlookers Monday morning television station KATU reported.

"People are fascinated by the eagles. They are huge and majestic and beautiful," Kate Carder KATU reported.

Carder and her husband received a notification from Oregon Birders about the bald eagles skirmishes, and headed to the scene for the chance they could be helpful KATU reported.

"I didn't think it would be that traumatic to me. I'm still shaken to the core, Carder told KATU.

The scene was extreme enough to prompt immediate attention before vacating the premise when they noticed staff were watching television station WVEC reported.

"When we saw the eagles in the tree, the eagle on the bottom branch had locked his talons into the other one's face," Lacy Campbell operations manager at the Wildlife Care Center in Portland told WVEC.

"As soon as we got within three feet of the birds, they recognized we were there, and they just flew off," Campbell told WVEC. "It's nice because even though we're getting a lot of calls like this that means that there a lot of bald eagles out there."

Many people have been calling the Audubon Society of Portland each week reporting the altercations. WVEC reported.

According to WVEC, a bird tends to get extremely hurt, but center staff could not decipher the shape of the eagles in the incident from the video, although bleeding was evident.

Campbell and a wildlife veterinarian came to the birds to take them away using a cherry picker from a tree removal company in the area KATU reported.

The birds were reportedly 50 feet up from the ground KATU reported. Footage was recorded using a GoPro video camera, which Cambell had on as she and other Audubon staff members zeroed in on the species.
