Fans all the world rejoiced earlier this week when Grammy award winner Taylor Swift released her new single, the spunky and upbeat song "Shake it Off" in New York.

In a thirty-minute Yahoo! livestream, the 24-year-old Taylor Swift launched her new single in her much-anticipated fifth album with an impromptu dance party with the fans in the studio.

It seems as though the singer has now veered away from her image as a country singer, with her new album, "1989."

Swift's "first straight-up pop album" is scheduled to hit the stores on October 27.

Swift premiered the upbeat track that talks about shaking off criticisms and other bad things that came her in order to embrace and accept her true self.

In a statement, Swift shared that this new album is all about changes.

"Two years gives you enough time to grow and change; change what you believe in and what's influencing and inspiring you," she said.

"In the process, my music changed. I woke up every single day not wanting, but needing, to make a new style of music. This album is a rebirth for me," she said

Taylor Swift co-wrote the new single, "Shake It Off," along with Max Martin and Shellback.

According to reports, immediately after the livestream, Swift's album became available for pre-order on the singer's official site. The singer also divulged a special surprise for die-hard Taylor Swift fans: the deluxe edition of her album will come with an envelope of Polaroid photos and three raw versions of the tracks that she herself have recorded using her phone.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Swift revealed her emotions about her new single, "Shake It Off."

"I've had every part of my life dissected - my choices, my actions, my words, my body, my style, my music. When you live your life under that kind of scrutiny, you can either let it break you, or you can get really good at dodging punches. And when one lands, you know how to deal with it. And I guess the way that I deal with it is to shake it off," she said.
