According to Kpopstarz,

"Columbia Pictures has announced that they are developing a new film adaptation to the award-winning children's game board book in 1981.

Douglas Belgrad, one of the bosses from Columbia made the announcement during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, saying that the idea is to 'try and reimagine 'Jumanji' and update it for the present.'

Zack Helm has been reported to pen the remake while Matt Tolmach and Bill Teitler are tapped to produce the planned project.

While, there has been no official cast announced for the planned Jumanji remake this 2014, the sudden passing of original cast, Robin Williams may have an effect to the upcoming planned film. However, no words from the studio have been reported as of press time.
