Derrick Rose Return: Chicago Bulls Superstar Says He Needs To Get Rhythm; Tom Thibodeau Impressed With Former MVP

Derrick Rose return update revealed that the Chicago Bulls superstar admitted that he is still struggling to get his rhythm back, but head coach Tom Thibodeau was impressed with his star guard's performance in the 2014 FIBA World Cup.

In an interview on Sunday after winning the gold medal in the World Cup, Rose said that he has yet to get into his rhythm, but he pointed out that he felt he performed well in the tournament.

"I haven't been playing in a long time. I still have to get my rhythm back," the former Most Valuable Player said in a Derrick Rose return update. "But as far as I'm concerned, I think I performed well. Making this team was enough for me."

Rose, who is coming off a surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee just a year after recovering from a torn ACL in his left knee, averaged 4.8 points to go along with 3.1 assists and 1.9 rebounds in the tournament.

But while his numbers were not impressive, the 25-year-old point guard said that the experience he gained in the tournament will help him when he returns to action for the Bulls in the 2014-15 NBA season.

"I'm going to transfer this onto next season with the Bulls," Rose said. "It's really helped me with my recovery. Being off the floor, taking care of my body, eating right. I was feeling good every time I stepped on the floor, stretching every time, I think it's going to help me with the Bulls season."

In a Derrick Rose return news on Chicago Tribune, Thibodeau said that he wanted Rose to be more offensive minded in the tournament, but overall, he loved what he saw from his superstar point guard.

"Physically he's great. Mentally he's great," Thibodeau said. "Obviously, I want him to shoot the ball better than he did. But I also know this is the first time you're dealing with body on body. It's physical. He's getting hit. He has to get used to that again. That's why it's so important to practice and play."
