IBM has just opened a new facility. The company's new Disaster Recovery Center has over 70,000 square-foot  and boasts of state of the art technology. The center can be found in the company's Research Triangle Park and is one of the biggest that is located in the United States.

IBM claims that their newly opened center combines the latest technology and proven methods to help businesses. It employs cloud-based technology and also excellent security measures to help protect vital information. The center is meant to help businesses to recover data quickly. That can help prevent losses which can be very costly. In this day and age, a reliable method of data recovery is a must now because businesses are mostly dependent on data to function. The center is going to be open all the time to ensure that it can provide the needed backup when needed.

IBM has thousands of employees in the  Research Triangle Park. The campus covers more than 4 million square feet  and is one of the biggest facilities of the company. IBM has consistently declined to reveal just how many employees they have on each site.

IBM has more than a hundred resiliency centers around the world and all of those provide assistance to businesses that are reliant on them for backing up their information. It is not yet clear as to how many employees will be based out of the new center.

An outage can cost a company more than $30,000 a minute. That's why the importance of these recovery centers cannot be underestimated. Though these centers can be very costly to build their effectiveness and the benefits that they bring make them more than worth the cost of building them.

Hopefully, more such centers will be built by IBM in the near future to help businesses in other areas and also to create jobs.
