Mariah Carey Messes Up in Tokyo Kick-off Performance of Elusive Chanteusse World Tour; Blasts Nick Cannon in One of the Songs

Articles and videos of Mariah Carey's messed up kick-off performance of Elusive Chanteusse World Tour 2014 in Tokyo on October 4 have been rounding online sites lately. The articles wrote of her below par performance, vocal problems and the inability to hit high notes of which she has been known for. She also experienced brief memory lapse when she forgot lyrics of one song. These weren't good highlights for a premiere performance after a hiatus. Props like the microphone malfunctioned, and the microphone stand broke while she was singing. Some reviews even commented of her gross, hideous butt when she changed wardrobe (she had four wardrobe changes in the show).

Many articles associated her dismal performance as reflective of her marriage troubles with Nick Cannon. But there's one bonus track in the said Tokyo show that was very noticeable and got properly documented. She indirectly blasted her soon-to-be-ex-husband when she added words to the original lyrics of the Billie Holiday classic song, "Don't Explain."

The song goes like this: Cry to hear folks chatter / And I know you cheat / Right or wrong, don't matter / When you're with me, sweet." What's the extra lyrics? "I know you cheated motherf-er."

According to reports, she had trouble performing hitting the high notes of 'Always Be My Baby.' She begged to repeat the song 'We Belong Together' when she missed some lyrics after getting distracted of the broken mike stand. It's also pathetic that the song that marked her singing prowess,"My All" was pitchy.

But despite the bloopers, Mariah Carey rendered 20 original songs, including her hits, covers, and some new cuts from "Me. I am Mariah...the Elusive Chanteusse." The mark of a real professional.

Maybe the tour is ill-timed she seems so stressed it became apparent in her performance. Here's hoping she could compose herself in her next stops all over Asia.

Meantime, it's been said Nick Cannon's MARIAH tattoo at his back has just been covered.
