Previous Hannibal Season 3 spoilers revealed that Will Graham (played by Hugh Dancy) won’t be seen that much in the first few episodes. According to executive producer Bryan Fuller, early part of the show will focus more on Dr. Hannibal Lecter’s (Mads Mikkelsen) escapade in Europe. There he will pose as husband to Dr. Bedelia (Gillian Anderson). Will Graham will be momentarily out of the picture and that could be because he will search for himself first. What he really wants, or if he really want to stop Hannibal.

In a recent Hannibal Season 3 Spoiler revealed by Bryan Fuller in an interview with IGN, he said that Graham will be the misunderstood guy once the show returns. This is because of his mixed feelings on what transfired in Hannibal Season 2 finale.

"His agenda becomes so confused, and a lot of his intentions won’t be fully understood until Season 3," Fuller said.

"That’s what we’re exploring in the first few episodes. What was it Will intended when he made his pact with Hannibal? What did Will intend when he called Hannibal?

“In one version, he wants Hannibal to leave. He wants to save Hannibal, to spare Jack Crawford, and free himself from all those binds. Instead, what he finds is this ghost from the past, who has somehow survived what he thought was her murder.”

Lecter was more sincere on the friendship he offers compared to Will Graham

On the same interview, Bryan Fuller also discussed how hurt Hannibal was because he was tricked by Will. Lecter was offering a genuine friendship and he was hurt by the fact that Will didn’t reciprocate it.

“Hannibal is actually the better friend. We sort of break down who’s the good friend and who’s the bad friend.

"Will’s the bad friend because Hannibal gave him the chance to come clean; he assures him of his forgiveness and Will didn’t take it. Will continued with the lie because he was targeting Hannibal as his prize, and that all backfired.

"So that last moment is the piss going out of him.”
